Essie never married. She did take care of her father, while he was ill with tuberculosis, and she helped raise the children of her brother, David Mitchell Satterwhite.

Citations

I have not yet documented that Lora is the daughter of Eli and Annie, or that her name is Lora Ethel. Since I do have a 1900 census with Eli and Annie having a daughter, Ethel, born at the right time to be our Lora, and having the same lineage of birthplaces, I believe this is Lora. I know that Lora's middle initial is 'E', even more reason to believe this may be her. If I am incorrect in this assumption, please email and let me know.
