On the application for James's Confederate pension, the marriage date for them is 10 July 1866. James Marion Gamblin Sr. died on 17 September 1883 at Hopkins County, Texas; Grave marker has death year 1884, but the confederate pension application filed by Loucinda, has his death year as 1883. He was buried after 17 September 1883 at Gamblin Cemetery, Como, Hopkins County, Texas.
     James Marion Gamblin Sr. appeared on the census of 7 June 1880 at S.D.2; E.D.61; Page 10, Precinct 6, Hopkins County, Texas; is age 42, married to L. F., and he is farming. Six children, and 1 niece, are with them.
