Son of Ocie Pearl (Defoe) & Earl Mitchell Satterwhite.
Jerry served in the Korean War. He was seriously wounded, and left for dead by his unit.
Two medics. walking by, heard him moaning, picked him up and carried him off the battlefield.
Jerry was wounded in the back, neck, both legs and his wrist. His mother was told he would never walk again.
By the grace of God, and his mom's daily prayers, upon arriving back home, Jerry walked off the bus.
